The Education Business Links Team (EBL) are committed to managing Work Experience for schools and colleges. EBL engages and supports businesses and schools in participating with work experience, to ensure young people gain an invaluable placement. The placements we source help young people develop their employability skills while gaining an insight into working life and potential career opportunities.

We take great pride in performing the relevant Health & Safety checks within businesses to ensure that a safe environment is provided to students, by the businesses offering this invaluable opportunity.

We have an extensive network of employers we work with each year, hosting over 3,500 students from schools across Shropshire and Telford. These work experience placements help young people to build and develop their employability skills, whilst gaining first-hand experience and an insight into the world of work and potential career opportunities.

Students participating in vocational courses whether in sixth form or college are able to gain the required first-hand experience to support their studies and gain invaluable insight in their chosen field of study.

Work experience opportunities can take place in 1 or 2 week block placements, as well as extended work placements in the form of one day a week for a minimum of 6 weeks.

The EBL provide a one-point of contact, to manage work experience for all stakeholders. We make the process as simple as possible, agreeing the work experience dates and project plan with all involved. We provide students with a brief on the process and help prepare them for their work experience placement, through interactive and online learning tools.

When placements are complete, we can meet with stakeholders to discuss the process, placements, evaluate data, gain feedback and celebrate successes.
